Resurrexit sicut Dixit, Alleluia

An empty nest lies underneath
a flowering Bougainvillea—
a sign of promises unkept
or fledgling flight?

An empty tomb that’s nestled
in Judea’s rocky hills—
another failed prophecy
or hope transcended?

The Latin title translates as “He is risen, as he said.”

  1. Thank you for sharing this with me. It asks (and answers) questions I have been hearing often lately.

  2. lynn__ says:

Our hope transcended…He is risen indeed!
